To all you procrastinators who waited until the last minute:

If you haven't received your response yet, please be patient.

For the last 24 hours she has received MORE than one per minute.
She's going to burn out her eyeballs to get you your acknowledgment of receipt, but please be patient if she doesn't make it.

Thank you.

And thank you all for entering.

Better sharpen those writing skills with an angry letter demanding the Contest be formatted to fit your whims.  I mean, that must be a suer fire way to garner some positive attention...right?

I really wish I had checked over here earlier. Ah well, easy come, easy go. It's still great to see a company willing to give a shot to up and coming writers, though, so I'm really happy for all those that did make the deadline, and for Kris, Jim and crew for having the contest to begin with. I hope, if it proves successful, that you'll continue to do it, maybe annually or something. Regardless, thanks again.

I recall reading an entry or two from you...are you saying you missed the deadline?  Coulda sworn I saw your name somewhere in the masses.  Your real name, not Gonzogoose.   Wink

Are you saying that this person's name is not Gonzogoose?! That madam seems like slander! Perhaps he simply used a fake name in sending submissions to you, and uses his real last name, Gonzogoose (a proper British name) here on the forums.

Could be...

Yaknow. Maybe....

Nahhh, actually Mr. Goose here was a fan of the very FIRST book I ever got published at Image, lo those many years ago, called Small Gods.  He was a forum regular then, and has popped in on each of my forums since then.  I believe he letters books as well.

I have a great memory.

I remember Small Gods. It was a futuristic, cop, telepathy right?

Does any one else find it strange that Sci-fi comics seem like a hard sell. I love 'em, but I'm trying to think of successful sci-fi comic that's lasted, all I can think of Dark Horse's franchises (which have a built in audience so isn't really what I mean) and Transmetropolitan.

If you walk into a comic shop and start a discussion on anything sci-fi, everyone chimes in their two cents.

However original sci-fi material seems to languish.  Cry

No, I got the auto reply saying submissions weren't being accepted anymore - I think I sent them in around 4pm. Oh well. Smiley

Very good indeed, and all correct!

Yes, beware the dreaded British Gonzogoose! Always wondered what my heritage was, now I know.  Tongue
