The exciting conclusion of Johnny Monster in issue 3 comes out this week and the beginning of my crime story in Overlook 1 begins this week! Pretty cool to have them come out on the same day.

The two books are very different in tone. Like night and day and I'm really excited to see what people think of both books.

I hope everyone is able to get copies at your local comic book store!

I just received my shop's e-mail of their new arrivals this week and oh dear... no Johnny Monster and Overlook in the list although I pre-ordered them.

I'll notify the shop about this tomorrow when Diamond's list is also released.

This doesn't make me happy at all.

Josh even though this is a different topic. My girlfriend's little brother who is 7 (she is much older.....21 as a matter of fact. I am not cradle robber after all) anyway I gave him Dear Dracula. He has never been a big fan of reading and often skips most of the story. So the long and short of it is that he loved the book, finished it in a day and wants more books. I just thought you would like to know that your work is definitely not going unnoticed.

It was crime weekend on TV, I guess. I watched The Departed *twice*, Ocean's Twelve, The Sopranos reruns, Breaking Bad...

Anyhoot, I'm just really looking forward to Overlook. I just hope it shows up at my shop.

Thanks a bunch, Josh. I'm always glad to hear that kids are reading and it's am extra bonus to hear it's something I wrote.  Grin

Hey Josh,

I read Johnny Monster 1-3 over the last couple of days and enjoyed the heck out of it! I'm actually thinking of giving them to my boy now to read. (Well, look at -- he's 4, but really into comics thanks to dear old Dad's influence.) I think he'll get a kick out of 'em!

And the first two issues of Overlook also rang my bell. Good, good stuff there. I'm glad to see you having such success and bringing such diversity and quality to your work.

Best,
Elton

Thanks, Elton. I'm glad you enjoyed Johnny Monster and Overlook.

Yeah, I like trying out different styles and approaches. It helps me learn more about myself as a writer. These two books really taught me a few new tricks and I can't wait to use them.
