Pages 30 & 31

TITLE:  Letters
ART:  Sina Grace http://sinagrace.com

+ It's the Pablo's Inferno shirt again.  Speaking of which, last week at Comic-Con International in San Diego, I bought another of this shirt.

+ This strip went up at the end of October, but was written about an event that happened on my birthday the month before.  My parents sent me a card, but all that arrived was an empty envelope.

TITLE:  The Li'l Depressed Boy's Sing Along Blog
ART:  Chris Fenoglio http://chrisfenoglio.com

+ Kermit reappears.  Kermit hasn't been in the comic since this strip.

+ LDB is dressed as Dr. Horrible from Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog for Halloween.  http://www.drhorrible.com/

+ Chris Fenoglio decided to throw in a poster for the Clash's London Calling on the wall, because he was tired of "drawing" blank walls.  I find this funny, because you don't really draw blank.  You just leave that part of the page white.  Anyway, London Calling is a great record.

+ On the TV, LDB is watching Evil Dead II.  A Halloween watching staple since I was a kid.

+ The three kids trick-or-treating at LDB's house first appeared in another strip Fenoglio and I did for a horror anthology.  In it, the three kids trick-or-treat at a house, where a guy is playing a pretty convincing dead man.  Turns out the man is really dead, and was being puppeteered Weekend-at-Bernie's-style by the killer.  Apparently, LDB lives on the same street.  However, in the time between drawing the strips, Fenoglio decided to improve the costume for the Frankenstein kid.

TITLE:  Election Special
ART:  Zach Trover http://too-hectic.com/

+ Somehow, I bet you can guess who I voted for.  Love me or hate me for it, I was just happy that for the first time, I was excited about a candidate and not just voting against somebody.

+ LDB is wearing a Captain America sweatshirt.  Because I'm a big nerd, I like to wear Captain America shirts on election day.

+ The two kids running through the third panel are Zach Trover and his wife Sarah.  Aren't they cute?

+ I think the guy standing in front of LDB in line is supposed to be me.  If so, I might have to cry because I feel my hairline isn't that far back.

TITLE:  Post Election Wrap Up
ART:  Justin Stewart http://popstewcomics.com/

+ I love the "I voted" stickers they give out when you vote.  I always take extras.  Stick 'em to my musical equipment, notebooks, etc.

+ This was a real conversation between Drew and I.

+ This is Drew's favorite rendition of himself in the comic.  He had the final panel as his avatar on various social media for awhile after the strip was posted.

I've missed the annotated bits.
How would one see the original strip with the three trick or treaters?

Thanks.  I'll disagree with you on the letters, though.  I look at it and I see 1,000 mistakes.  Wish it weren't already in print, I'd go back and change it.

Oh how I love working on a webcomic where I never really have to be finished. Cheesy

What didn't you like about the letters?

The lines are too widely spaced.  Not that fond of the perfectly shaped ovals anymore.  And the tails on the balloons being straight looks weird.

It was the first thing I ever lettered for someone other than myself.  If you compare it to a more recent LDB strip, you'll see how much I've grown since then.

Wow, I didn't even notice the balloons and the tails. There's a lot to keep in mind when lettering!

Yeah.  It's a slow learning process, but I think I'm getting better.
