All kidding aside, Kat is doing some brilliant work here. I love concept themes over individual character themes and IHGG has that clocked in spades.
Thanks, Jimmie. This easily could have slipped into character study of Renée and become a real teen angst fest. But I don't think anybody really wants that from this book. Also, your rewrite for page 2? Freaking gold. The Hello Kitty phone is the icing on the cake. I just contacted my Comic Shop buddy in downtown Vancouver. I told her to order that there Galaxy Girl. Not just a few copies, but a bunch of em!
I only had to offer a Kat appearance in full Tempest gear....sorry Kat, that's showbiz for ya.
But- but- Kris Simon says that it is unprofessional for a writer to show up to a signing in a costume! What am I to do? I want the sales, but I don't want to look like an amateur either.

What is considered a "good" number of comics ordered by a comic shop for an issue such as this. 25? 50? 100?

Yeah that's not an easy question to answer. Most comic shops order 5. Then they cut their order down to 3 for the second issue. Or, they cut it down completely to only cover customers who have pre-ordered and don't showcase it on the shelves at all. Most creators stop promoting their books once the first issue leaves Previews, but it's actually the second issue that needs the most pimping. The first issue can be re-ordered at the same time the second issue is pre-ordered. And it's harder to convince people to order 2 issues at the same time, especially when they don't know if they'll like it or not. For a signing, stores will typically order 30-50 and hope for the best.

Sorry to hear that your computer broke down. Happy to hear that you think these first few pages are awesome. I know I keep saying it, but wait until you see the next five. We had to invent new forms of butt for pages 6-10 to kick. I heart my team.

Thank you, Gino. I promise you will not regret your purchase. looking full of awesome Kat.
Thanks, Liz. I think we might have accidentally exceeded the recommended daily dosage for awesome. Side effects may include head banging and exploding rainbows of joy.
